How the Most Popular Games Work

New to any of these games? Here's a quick overview of the most popular card games at 100 Jili so you can jump in with confidence.

Each player is dealt 13 cards. Players take turns playing combinations — singles, pairs, triples, or five-card hands like straights and flushes. The next player must beat the combination on the table or pass. The goal is to be the first to play all 13 of your cards. The 2 of Spades is the highest single card in the game, which gives Pusoy Dos its name. The player holding the 3 of Diamonds must play it on the first turn of every game.

Three players each receive 12 cards (the dealer gets 13). Players take turns drawing from the deck and discarding. The goal is to form melds — sets of three or four cards of the same rank, or runs of three or more consecutive same-suit cards — and reduce your hand value to zero. A player can win by "Tong-its" (emptying their hand), by calling a draw when no one can challenge, or by having the lowest unmelded point value when the draw pile is exhausted. Challenging requires showing you can beat the hand on total unmelded points.

You and the dealer each receive two cards. Your goal is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards are worth face value; face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10; Ace is worth 1 or 11. You can Hit (take another card), Stand (keep your hand), Double Down (double your bet and take exactly one more card), or Split (if you have two cards of the same value, split them into two separate hands). The dealer must hit on 16 or less and stand on 17 or more. Blackjack (an Ace plus any 10-value card) pays 3:2 at 100 Jili.

Dragon Tiger is the fastest card game at 100 Jili. The dealer places one card face up on the Dragon spot and one on the Tiger spot. Your only decision is which side has the higher card — Dragon, Tiger, or Tie. The Tie side bet pays 8:1 but has a higher house edge. Dragon and Tiger bets pay even money minus a 5% commission on wins. Aces are low in Dragon Tiger. A Tie occurs when both cards are the same rank.

Each player antes a boot amount into the pot, then receives three cards face down. You can choose to play Blind (without looking at your cards) or Seen (after looking). Blind players pay half the current bet; Seen players pay the full bet. Players bet until everyone folds except one, or two players agree to a showdown. The best three-card hand wins the pot. Hand rankings from best to worst: Pure Sequence (straight flush), Sequence (straight), Colour (flush), Pair, High Card.
